Discover a groundbreaking scholarship initiative that transforms student stories into a lasting legacy of teacher appreciation. Originating at Northeast Mississippi Community College (NEMCC), this program leverages AwardSpring, our scholarship management software, to highlight students who—through a reflective essay—share how a teacher profoundly shaped their lives. This scholarship was donated from a source who has experienced the results of a life focused on accepting the love of Jesus and giving forgiveness to others. Thanks to their vision and generosity, this successful model is now ready to expand nationwide.
Colleges interested in participating must submit an application to be considered as the one community college representing their state. Submissions, up to 500 words, should explain how the institution will continue the program for years to come after the initial investment and how they will share the Impact Scholarship Program with other community colleges statewide. Any level of continuation is welcomed, impacting as many students as possible over time. Attendees should leave ready to implement the program locally, honor teachers, and create meaningful engagement for students, faculty, and donors.
